An heroic police officer steps in and saves the life of a baby who was unresponsive.

Officer Brian Meador of the South Bend, Indiana, Police Department is seen sprinting outside to react to a child who is not responding in a YouTube video.

The toddler was then given chest compressions by Brian, who was trying desperately to get the infant to breathe again.

While he and the child’s parents waited for the ambulance to arrive at the police station, Brian proceeded

to perform the life-saving technique on the child. Thank goodness, the officer’s fast thinking paid off.

Fortunately, Brian stated, ‘the baby started crying about the time that EMS got to the front door.’

A weeping child is usually an indication that something is wrong, but in this case, it was a positive sign because the youngster’s life was in danger. The child’s cries were ‘music’ to Brian’s ears.

Brian also gave the child’s parents credit for their contribution to saving their lives. ‘Big ups to

mom and dad for also knowing exactly what to do in that circumstance,’ Brian remarked. ‘That is very significant.’

The mother and father of the child were en route to the hospital because their child had been unwell.

But when the child stopped responding on the way to the hospital, the parents decided to take a different route and went to the South Bend Police Department.

The toddler is still recovering, according to the video.
