Since getting married five years ago, Jon and Eva Mahoney have been living an eventful life. In 2015, Jon, a teacher from Nova Scotia,
and Eva, a doctor from Moscow (where the two presently live), set off on a voyage that would take them
to 33 different nations. They usually chose warm locations so they could camp there and save money.
They traveled to many other nations, among them Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, Namibia, Brazil, Thailand, and Cambodia.
On the day they set off on their voyage, Jon began to grow a beard, which over the course of time got remarkably long.
As can be seen in the pictures of his gigantic beard, his facial hair has come to represent his manliness.
When they traveled to colder places like Mongolia and northern Canada, Jon’s beard served as both a sign of manliness and kept him warm.
He told SaltWire, ‘I was curious to see how long it would get, and it was a good excuse to grow a beard.’ ‘Every section was developed in a different nation.’
Despite the benefits, not everyone prefers to have a beard, thus at some point, one may choose to shave it off.
Fortunately, if you change your mind about having a beard, you can always start growing one again.
Jon unexpectedly stunned his wife by shaving his impressive beard and lengthy hair. Since then, tens of millions of people have watched a time-lapse video of the entire procedure on Facebook.
To begin, Jon’s stylist separates his beard into a number of pieces so that each one can be cut to length individually.
The hair from each piece is then put together to make some intriguing mementos for Jon to cherish as a reminder of his legendary beard.
As Jon’s stylist carefully trims away at each piece of his beard, the metamorphosis officially starts. There is no going back once Jon’s appearance begins to change with each cut.
It’s quite a sight to watch when, halfway through the transformation, he ends up with a look that combines a mustache with a mullet.
When the stylist finally turns her attention to Jon, it is clear that his hair has also been growing for a while. But now is the moment to let it go…
Eva is initially shocked and speechless at the big reveal, but she eventually starts laughing and hugs Jon.
Although it will take some getting accustomed to, she says she adores his new appearance and still recognizes him as her spouse.
He decides to start by asking her to close her eyes and stroke his head and face.
She clearly has a great deal of concern about the possible outcomes.
When she gathers herself, she opens her eyes to view her husband’s hairless face for the first time in a long time!
She is utterly shocked by the sight, as expected.
